What’s the benefit of reserving a private guided walk?
First of all, you have us just for yourself. This means we are able to satisfy your special personal or collective needs. Let us know when you would like to come, how many you are and what are your preferences, and we will customize your walk until it suits you perfectly.
Do you organize the free walk all year round?
We do! But keep in mind that we do it only on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays!
When and where does the free walk start and end?
We meet at the fountain in front of the Academy of Music. The exact address is Stari Trg 34, 1000 Ljubljana. We finish the free walk at the Autonomous Cultural Zone Metelkova City, located a 10 minute walk from the city centre.
Does the free walk end in the same place it starts?
No. We finish the walk at the Autonomous Cultural Zone Metelkova City, located a 10 minute walk from the city centre. We will provide you with precise instructions on how to get back to your chosen destination and give you some tips on what to do in that area. (Mind you, it’s also been rather tempting for our guests to spend an hour or two at the colourful Metelkova City itself once the walk has ended. There’s also cafes and restaurants in the Metelkova City area.)
How early should I arrive for the free walk?
We will be at the meeting point at least 5 minutes early. We recommend arriving at the spot 5-10 minutes before the tour starts so you can fill your bottle at the nearby faucet. This will also give us some time to quickly get to know each other before the actual start of the walk.
Do I need to book the free walk?
Booking the free walk is required.
Do you organize the free walk when it’s raining or snowing?
It’s actually pretty simple – we walk in every weather. As our walks run rain or shine we may at times encounter a raindrop or two. In case it looks as if it’s about to rain, we recommend you to bring along a rain jacket or an umbrella. And do, please, wear warm clothes in the winter time.
How fit do I need to be to go on the free walk?
Ljubljana is a flat city which makes it easy to walk around. Our walk is not fast paced. It’s an easy wander through the city. We make frequent stops to talk about what we see around us and take things pretty easy. In short, our walk is suitable for all fitness levels and for people of all ages.
What is the length and distance of the free walk?
Our walk runs for around 2 hours. The entire walk spans about 2.5 km (1.5 miles). We walk at a comfortable pace, making stops as we go.
Can your walks be delivered in any other language than English?
The free walk is delivered in English only. However, we also organise private walks in the following languages:
Why is the free walk ... er, well, free?
Ljubljana Graffiti Tour began as a social project because we wanted to show another face of Ljubljana to our friends and other people who were interested in our work. Our passion for city walks combined with our love for street creativity inspired the creation of Ljubljana Alternative Tours, which in turn inspired many individuals to help us or even join us. But we are not deceiving ourselves – we do also live in the real world and encounter real running costs. So to support the necessary research of the alternative culture and to make ends meet at the end of the day, we encourage our guests to leave a donation at the end of the free walk based on their satisfaction and financial ability.
