PlastikFantastik at Kinodvor in February

I, PlastikFantastik

Just before the premiere of film I, Daniel Blake  (Ken Loach, GB, 2016) the small park vis a vis Ljubljana's art film theatre Kinodvor has become the site of the latest pop-up edition of our PlastikFantastik project. It will last until the 24th of February. Curated by Ljubljana Graffiti Tour, the Kinodvor PlastikFantastik is inviting everybody, whether graffiti artists or random passersby, to express themselves in a political or aesthetic fashion through a medium of spray painting.

The project employs spray painting in a rather unconventional yet creative way: it substitutes immobile walls with transparent plastic foil, stretching it between poles or trees to create a working surface. The foil is then put at the mercy of all kinds of colourful interventions of passersby and local weather. Obviously spray cans are made available on the site to whomever wishes to express a creative idea or a political statement.

The current PlastikFantastik was inspired by the I, Daniel Blake film. The graffiti writers and various other people eager to participate have been asked to create graffiti that depict the main themes of the movie. Namely, solidarity, criticism of bureaucratic state apparatus and unavailability of assistance to the individuals in need

Here's a small photo gallery covering the first couple of days.
